Topic: The Construction of a Second Nichupte Bridge

Instructions to Candidates
You have seen the following announcement in a local newspaper in Cancún:
“The construction of a second Nichupté Bridge has divided public opinion. While some residents believe the project will improve transportation and boost the local economy, others argue that it could seriously damage the environment and alter the character of the city.”
You have decided to write a letter to the editor expressing your opinion.
Write your letter.
In your letter, you should:
- explain your opinion clearly;
- support your ideas with relevant arguments and examples;
- respond to opposing views;
- persuade readers to consider your position.
Write your answer in 220–260 words in an appropriate formal style.
